One important market is the Mercado de Artesanias, where vendors sell tin lanterns, traditional weavings, silver jewelry, and more. Nestled amongst 17th- and 18th-century architecture, vegan organic cafes, boutiques, and upscale hotels cater to tourists and young residents.

Temperate. During hot seasons temperatures average 28˚/82F(day)/13˚/55F(night). Winter temperatures average between 21˚/70F and 5˚/40F.

Safety

San Miguel de Allende is a very safe place for visitors both by day and by night. However, common sense must be used and the normal precautions taken. The best way to enjoy San Miguel de Allende is to walk down its main streets, full of beautiful temples and colonial mansions.

Recommendations

Walking down the streets of San Miguel can be complicated to travelers not used to long hikes and stony paths. We recommend comfortable footwear with rubber soles and low heels.
